I’ve got my mojo back

It’s been a couple of weird years. First the pandemic with self isolation, forced isolation, hardly not seeing the grandchildren, the family itself, getting the jabs, new outbreak of mutated Corona viruses.

Then my own heart related problems. A much needed operation at the Kyrenia University Hospital in late August, with a very straight index finger from the surgeon telling “This is your last chance”. Oops, never thought a slight flu was that serious.

Not even this was enough. My own baby, my server running this blog, went down. Luckily, sometimes i feel smart. I had regular backups. Now we are back together. Took some time, but at the same time I managed to update the operating system etc. I have several plans for upgrading, but that’s no stress. First one is to install certificates to avoid the not secure messages.

All went well, until December came with cold weather. Never ever felt that bad, gasping for air when walking from one floor to another.

In the end, it all had to do with side-effects of medicines. March 18 I talked my cardiologist to stop using one medicine. March 19 we flew down to my promised land, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

And what a change it had to my health. I am now able to walk about, nearly run. Never thought a tablet could have this change. This why I claim I have my mojo back.

The first weak we were here, was a really damned cold one. To be honest, I am a Norwegian used to cold weather. This is quite different. Cold weather and cold houses is nothing to look for.

However, this part of the year is the absolutely prettiest. The whole island is covered in green with yellow flowers. I enjoy walking about just looking. Here is a little of what I have experienced on my walks

This one did not make it

One of things we find strange her now, is that this is the strawberry time, in March ! And what sizes they come in.

During these 2 years of pandemic, we have managed to stay out of trouble—- until now.

Last week we had been out a couple of times with friends, and finally getting back into hugging mode. Really good to feel. BUT, we were a bit to early.

Last Thursday we had decided to go on a surprise visit to friends in Esentepe, friends we haven’t seen for a long time, caused by the pandemic and my own misery. On Wednesday evening Tove said she was feeling a bit strange, so we decided to take a self test, just in case. Here we go. Linda and Graeme, you will have to hold for another week.

Test one, day one. Tove’s to the right, mine left
My test the second day. A slight pink colour
My test the third day. Nothing more to do about it.

So here we are, sitting in Cyprus in isolation, waiting for better times to come. However, we have no big problems. Just coughing a bit with a running 👃. Weather is fine 🌞

Better times will come. Until then, cherio ….
