Spice Garden, Little Stones and The dark side

On Tuesday, there were some need of repairs in the apartment, the main fly screen were falling off, and also a general tidying up before cleaners arrives tomorrow.

After finishing my work early evening, i texted my good friend Khalid, who is running Spice Garden together with his brother Sajid, to have a table reserved. Actually not necessary, as I ‘m promised by Khalid to allways have a table no matter what. Spice Garden is one of my favourite restaurant over here.

Big was my surprise when we drove off, just to find Khalid in the middle of a road crossing, walking about, with his car crashed. He had driven directly out on the main road, and hit by another car. Khalid, you were not texting and driving? He later told me he had been fined by the police. Luckily you were not injured. Also Arsenal won easily later this evening, it helps (Khalid is a die hard Arsenal fan).

Tried a new curry this evening, recommended by Usman Jutt, one of the waiters. Spot on to my taste. Can’t remember the name now, but will find it in the menu next time.

Wednesday we went into town, as we had agreed with David to meet him at Little Stones. Stopped by Supreme supermarket on the way to stock up with some more vegetables. Just have to post an image of the market there, lovely.

Sat with David and Ozy for all day including a take away lunch from Ezic Point. One of the reasons for visiting him, was to have a look at his neighbouring house that is up for sale. Unfortunately I cannot afford to buy it.

Returned home in the evening and decided to try Sea Breeze for dinner. They have fish and chips night on Wednesdays. Unfortunately it was fully booked. Then went on to Yamans. Met Arthur Millman who was more or less finished with his dinner and agreed to have a chat later in his house.

Had a chat and a bit of wine on his terrace. Allways a pleasure to catch up with Arthur. Wine in beer glasses, as “someone” has nicked his.

As it may be the last time I’m allowed to take my car over to the dark side, south Cyprus, we had agreed to go on a trip with Phil on Thursday. Nothing to cheer about, really, as I dislike going to Ikea. Got a package of wine glasses for Arthur.

However, survived Ikea and then on to Lidl. They still have Champagne to reasonable prices, 19 an 16 euros, so stocked up with a couple. Then went on to the new Nicosia Mall, situated close to the old airport that was closed after the 1974 war. Had quite a trip, as we missed the exit from the highway, but made us enjoy a ride in the country side.

Then time to go back to the brighter side. Heading over the border, we stopped for a refreshing beer at the O-live. O-live is the only, as far as I know, craft brewery in the north.

Then back to home. Now we have had our dinner and are waiting to go to the airport. Kristine, Stian, Amalie and Sebastian are coming tonight. Guess who is eagerly waiting ???
