Ercan, agm and Spice Garden

Friday started with picking up Stian, Kristine and children at the Ercan airport outside of Nicosia. Arrival was at 1.40 am from Oslo with a stopover in Istanbul. Met them to aid with baggage and look up the hire car. They were out around 2 am and we started walking around the car park searching for the car. Rental cars in this country is normally just delivered to the car park, with keys on one of the frontwheels and big sign inside with your name on. Cars are returned the same way, just leave it in the car park with keys on the frontwheel. Only issue of importance, is never forget to leave it with the ticket from the car park gate. After walking about for about half an hour, we more or less gave up, no sign of the car. Then suddenly had a text message from Serhan Serdar of the rental company. There were no car, they just had forgotten to inform us that no cars were available until tomorrow. Instead he had sent a taxi to drive them to Sweetwater Bay. The driver, however, obviously was running late as he was not there when they walked out of the airport building. Anyway, we all arrived Sweetwater Bay and managed to get to bed at 4 am.

Morning started with the Sweetwater Bay agm at 10 am. As I had been appointed invigilator together with Arthur Millman, Olena and Dimitrij Spaskov, there were no chance to disappear. The only board member present, was Sergei Spaskov who made a real good presentation. The agm turned out to be a lively one, as the russians had mad preparations to take over. They did not succeed. Democracy rules.

Rest of the day was used for relaxation around the pool. Good for all of us.

Dinner was at Spice Garden, a choice from Kristine and Stian. I was quite happy with their choice, rating Spice Garden as one of the better ones. As a fact, I have Spice Garden as my favourite on international food, Çiftlikdüzü for traditional cypriot food.

Spice Garde was packed. They are running a tasting night every Friday. Took more than normal time to get food, but doesn’t matter as we were not in a hurry. Khalid and staff was really running around to please all customers. They did a superb job. I will be back Khalid, no need for you to give me a wine bottle.
