A hairy night and Sunday roast
When writing this, it’s Monday, Tove and I have had our daily morning walk, had our shower and now just finished lunch. This day is predicted to be hot, 31 degrees officially. However, it’s overcast, so has yet not reached that high on the thermometer, but with more or less no winds, you can feel the heat and humidity. This October has been amazing. No wind, no rain and still high temperatures.
Thinking back on the few last days, brings on a lot of good memories we can carry forward. On Friday we were invited to a gathering at Lin and Alan Murrell’s house. Incredible 25 people appeared, all English except the 2 of us and Kevin’s wife Melis. It turned up to be a really lively evening. With some music and Lin and Alan’s hats, wigs and vice versa, this evening went into history as an evening never to be forgotten. Thank to Lin and Alan for your hospitality.
The evening also started the end of the autumn holiday season. Several people now have gone home and others will leave soon. Kevin, Melis and Ted already gone. Linda, Derek, Angela, Peg and John to follow soon. All good things has an end.
Luckily Sheila is back after a trip to UK, seeing her new grandson, bringing Phil’s mother with her. Good to see you again “nanny Cyprus”.

On Saturday we had plans for going to the town’s best fish restaurant, Kephal at Lord’s Palace, together with Angela, David and Özlem. Unfortunately little Talia was taken ill, having fever, so we cancelled. Instead Tove made a superb salmon meal that we consumed out on the terrace together with a bottle of Mud House. We always carry with us some Salma salmon when we travel to Sweetwater Bay. This is one of the foods we cannot live without.
After dinner we walked down to neighbour Angela for a chat, actually lasted several hours.
Sunday, we had agreed long time ago, to go to Spice Garden for Sunday lunch. Having Sunday lunch, or Sunday roast is an English habit I am deeply jealous in. We were, apart from the 2 of us, Cynthia and Dennis, Joy and Eddy, Lin and Alan, Derek and Linda.
Thank you to Khalid and staff for a lovely meal and also for having entertainment this day.

Lunch lasted nearly 4 hours, and no need for more food that day. After the meal we gathered up at Linda and Derek’s for a cruise planning meating, just to talk thru excursions and special meals we want to attend. Derek and Linda, Joy and Eddy together with the 2 of us are going on a Carribbean cruise later in the year. Also started planning Cynthia’s birthday Feb 29th next year. Seems to be a big group of Bayer’s going to Darlington. Hotel booked and ticked off from the list.
That’s it for this weekend. Today is Linda and Derek’s last day here this time. Will go to Yaman’s for a meal with them later in the evening.
Tomorrow we will be entering our last week here this time and already have several days booked.
