Famagusta once more

After the Robbos lefte, we have gone very easy, hardly no contact with any one at all. There was a need of rest after some hectic days.

Wednesday we had a drive into Girne for shopping, with just a lunch at Los Amigos. Stopped at Little Stones on our way back and had a long chat with David. Rest of the day was spent doing nothing and had a meal at home.

Thursday, Tove and I took a trip to Famagusta again and the beach. Weather was just lovely. Imagine it’s mid October and the temperature in sea is still some 27-28 degrees. However, the beach was far from crowded. It will be a shock for both mind and body to go back to cold and rainy Norway. I could stay here forever, but missing family now pulls us back home. I had a long swim in the sea, realising it will probably be the last one this year

During the afternoon clouds were gathering in the sky, clearly indicating we are heading into the fall with unstable weather. We packed our stuff and headed back to Sweetwater Bay. Driving out of Famagusta, heading over the Mesarya plain we saw the sudden change in weather in direction of Nicosia. Dark, nearly black clouds, with unbelievable lightnings directly to the ground. We did not experience any of this, just som light showers. Later we found out there had been torrential rain in Girne.

On our way back we drove after this red car as shown in the video below. Whether it was bad driving skills, old car, bad tyres, slippery road causing it, I dont know. This clearly shows how fast an accident occurs, even though the speed was slow. However, all went well this time. Driver looked a bit embarrassed when we passed him. The footage was taken from my dashboard camera. In a country where every driver seems to have their own set of traffic rules, I have installed the camera in case of any accident.

Had decided to go to Stevie’s for a meal in the evening, but the place was packed. Obvious their quizz nights are popular. Ended up in Esentepe at Tuncay’in Yeri for some local food.
