Cyprus stay over for this time

This post was to be written soon after we had to leave our paradise on april 26th.

However, after returning home I found my server to behave strange. There were problems logging into certain software on my server. I’m using Webmin for a visual approach to the system, WordPress as a content management tool for this blog. These 2 were some of the tools now rejecting my presence. It wasn’t until last night I found I had been hacked. 2 new users had been added to my WordPress system and obviously used for keeping me out. How could this happen? My only explanation is I had 2 weak passwords used in my database system. Needless to say I now have reset all my passwords to a safer standard.

6 weeks goes really fast when you’re constantly are together with your real friends. Even a bit of low activity caused by Covid-19 didn’t affect us too much.

However, we will soon return 🌞

Before leaving the Cyprus subject for this time, I would like to draw your attention to the Körfez fish restaurant in Boğas. To those of you unfamiliar with the Turkish language and pronunciation, the letter ğ is silent, so the name is pronounced Boas. The restaurant is beautiful located in the harbour of Boğas.

Tove and I had sunday lunch there on our last Sunday. We selected just fish mezes, i.e only starters and no main meal. Never in my life have I had that much food. Even I had to give in in the end.

The meal consisted of 12 cold mezes and 8 hot ones. The pictures below shows some of the food.

The restaurant is on the top of my recommendation list. If you have a chance, go there and enjoy.

Staying home during the spring usually means a lot, and I mean a lot, of work.

I started inside by re-grouting the tiles in the hall. Didn’t take that much time, but it was necessary. I gained some experience in this type of work after doing the same in our Sweetwater Bay apartment.

For some reason, I decided to remove the moss in my lawn. Cant remember last time I did the “de-mossing”, must have been close to 15 years ago. Now the work is recorded in my blog so I will remember for the future.

No need to say there was a lot of moss. I had to remove 1 and a half trailer loaded with this fluffy stuff.

After trimming the hedges, the time came to relaunch our lawn mover robot Minnie the Muncher. She has had a test run and is now ready for the summer.

The spring also involves some trips to the summerhouse. A lot to do up there too. We have been busy clearing up after the storm last fall. So far, we have created 15 sacks of firewood. Last winter we used 20 sacks, so we are on our way to be self sufficient with firewood for a few years ahead.

During this time of the year, the lake is running low on water. This year we have had a real dry spring, so the lake is dryer than normal. Normally the water level start to rise around the weekend end april/start may, but now we will have to wait.

We are lucky to see a lot of bird life every spring, this year no change. Loads of ducks mating, geese and even swans. I love to watch this.

That’s it for this time. Tomorrow denotes a new era, a new time begins.

Last time I had a new car was in 2013. The last few years my Mazda CX5 has shown it starts to be worned out with increased expensive repairs. Tomorrow comes with a brand new car.
